Andy also does a wide range of repair and restoration work on guitars and related stringed instruments. With over seven years of experience, he has worked on vintage and collectible guitars of all kinds and has completed work for guitar stores across North Carolina and in New York City. The following prices are a general guide for common repairs but each instrument needs to be evaluated beforehand before a final price is agreed upon.
Maintenance:
-Full Set up - $60.00 (ADD $15.00 for 12 string or locking tremelo)
-Fret Dressing/Level, Grind, & Polish - $95.00 plus set up
-Partial Refret - $130 to $175.00 plus set up
-Complete Refret - $225.00 plus set up
(Neck with binding add $35.00)
(Respray laquered fingerboard add $35.00)
-Defret Bass - $180.00 plus set up
-Plane and Set up Fretless Bass - $95.00 plus set up
-Custom Fitted Bone Nut - $55.00 (add $25.00 for 12 string)
-Install Pre-Slotted Plastic Nut - $20.00
-Custom Fitted Saddle - $35.00 plus set up (add $100.00 for recutting saddle slot if req'd)
-Install Tuning Machines - $25.00 and up.
-Strap Button Installation- $35.
-Binding Replacement/ repair- $35 up to $85
-Pickguard Replacement- $30
Structural Repairs:
-Glue Cracked Headstock (with min. touch up) - $80.00 to $115.00
-Neck Reset - $375.00 and up
-Top, Rim and Back Cracks - each $35
-Reglue loose Braces - each $30.00
-Reglue lifting Bridge - $80.00 (add $20.00 for classical bridge)
-Shave Acoustic Bridge - $20.00 to $60.00
-Make and Install new Acoustic Bridge - $210.00
-Replace Bridge Plate-$125 and up.
Wiring:
-Replacing worn or damaged components - $35.00 and up
-Acoustic pickup installation - $85.00
Refinishing:
-Touchups - Impossible to generalize but are usually $50.00 and up
-High gloss finish to neck only - $170
-High gloss finish to Fender style body - $400 to $550
-High gloss finish - Entire guitar - $850
-Stripping and prepping ADD - $175
-Satin finishes - Generally 50% of High gloss charges
-Oil finishes - $50.00 to $100.00
-French polish retouch- $80.00
-French polish entire guitar-$475.00

-Other procedures for most instruments are priced per job.
